UHS Walk-In - Endicott Categories: Health
The facility is very and nice and so are the staff. The reason that I rated my experience here so low is because I had one specific issue with how my daughter's treatment was handled. I brought her in with a tick bite (the tick was still attached to her). I saw Johnathan Brooks, the physician assistant. He sufficiently removed the tick from her leg, but when I asked him if we should save the tick he told me "no" and threw it out, I went against my better judgement. I was later told by my primary care physician that had I saved the tick we could have had it tested for lyme disease. Johnathan did not advise me correctly on saving the tick, which is why I rated my experience so low at UHS.
I went to the Endicott walk in on February 5, 2017 around 1030. The wait was not bad, service from Sarah the nurse was great. I was feeling pretty confident with Erica the Nurse Practitioner as well, until there was no follow through. I had flu swab done and told I would here back in a few hours. Erica told me at that time if my swab was negatve she would call in a antibiotic. I let Erica know to use my cell phone # to make the call to me, because I keep it with me. The clinic # came up on my TV at 4 or so, meaning she called my house phone( that phone didn't pick up) no message was left. I called back with Kathy the receptionist telling me nobody called from the walk in. Not true, eventually after calling and speaking with someone other than Kathy I learned that Erica called to let me know at 4 my results had not returned yet. They left it at 8pm on Sunday that I should call for my results on Monday morning. I did as I was instructed and found my swab was negative. I asked if someone was sending a script for my antibiotic, I was then told no. Erica did not include that in her note. I was also told by Kathy on Sunday if I'm getting worse to go to the ER. A receptionist telling a patient that? I thought the reason for clinics is to keep the ER for emergency situations.
Went at 6pm on Xmas eve- staff was very helpful- concerned - and professional - not complaining about having to work - I called the Lourdes walking who were closing promptly at 6. I cannot tell you how happy I am with their service because when you're feeling sick you really don't want to go and wait in an emergency room. I was in and out of there within 20 minutes . Amazing service.
I was in and out in 30 minutes. They were all very friendly and helpful even though there isn't much you can do to treat the flu... the PA I saw got me a copy of a policy because I work for uhs as well. Great group of people!
Friendly staff walk in quick services with in house pharmacy
