The drive from Fairfield to Normangee was scenic and comfortable. I met with Kenneth at Normangee Tractor and Implements, and he spent time listening to my intentions and then recommended a tractor. Normangee Tractor has several models readily available, so the two hours spent on this trip was well worth it.

I brought a Polaris Ranger EV (ElectricVehicle) to their shop that had been driven into a pond up to the dashboard in water. We loaded it up immediately after we pulled it from the water, and took it to the Normangee Tractor Polaris service department, expecting a professional and accurate prognosis. After a few days of drying it out, they told me to start with it would cost big$ to replace few critical components up front (computer, etc), and then at that point they would be able to check the motor. The motor would be the expensive component, and with possible need of new motor, they suggested the unit was totaled out. We decided to pick up the ranger and check it out ourselves. The rear wheels were seized up when we picked it up at the shop, but had been rolling freely when we dropped it off at the shop. Upon return from shop, we inspected the buggy, and found that everything on the dash was working, headlights, battery indicator panel, hour meter, computer lights up and EVERYTHING was working except the seized rear wheels. Within 30 minutes we had the ranger rear differential freed up, and the motor was working! We have now test-driven the unit, and have to say, there doesn't seem to be a dang thing wrong with it. This is a most positive review for POLARIS RANGER EV. This is a most negative review for the Polaris service department at Normangee Tractor. A new Ranger EV is nothing short of $12k. They said it was probably totaled out, they wanted to bill me an hour for diagnosis (when in fact they did nothing except possibly confirm that the unit was indeed functional), and I had the unit running within 30 minutes. Doesn't seem to be a dang thing wrong with it... I will never bring my business back to this service department. I am glad I acted on my suspicion and retrieved my Ranger before they took me to the cleaners...
