Riverdale Park Farmers Market
April 6, 2017 - December 28, 2017
Thursday,3PM - 7PM
Location: Building Next to parking lot at 4650 Queensbury Road
It's just a small local market with limited options of vendors. Not a comprehensive shopping experience but they do their best
This particular farmers market is conveniently located approximately three-quarters of a mile south of the Whole Foods market in Riverdale Park. I really like it because of the year-round availability, every Thursday from 3-7 pm. You can redeem EBT, Debit and Credit cards for tokens at any Maryland farmers market. Their incentive for the EBT card is to give you an extra $5 in tokens, once you spend at least $5. The staff member who attends that station speaks fluent español, which is a great gift. The only problem with this setup is that, for right now, Jim, is the only staff member who knows how to conduct these transactions. If he should be unavailable, you would not be able to redeem cards for money tokens. Compared to Whole Foods, the Riverdale Park Farmers Market is reasonably priced. One downside to coming here is that they only sell most things that are in season. No dairy, save for eggs, is sold here. They do not sell bananas here. The staff is really friendly, as well as quite knowledgeable about produce and meats that they sell here. If you are looking for a convenient place to hang out on a Thursday afternoon in northern PG County where the people know more about agriculture than a librarian, then you'll love the wealth of information and the health of the produce you will find at the Riverdale Park Farmers Market!
Some of the best cookies and lemonade. They have bundle deals on most produce so if you want something like rainbow chard it's best to get 2 for a deal!
Incredible beer selection.
Great fun with our neighbors
