Our Story:

From humble beginnings and big dreams, our story started in the soil we go back to everyday. Although our farm story will continue to flourish, we are proud of our many accomplishments. In just a few years Heritage Prairie Farm went from being Certified Naturally Grown to USDA Certified Organic. We are proud to grow our produce in a sustainable and efficient way always giving back to Mother Nature for giving so much to us.

Now it is our hope to continue and give back to our community. From Weddings, Farm Dinners, and Pizza Nights, we truly love to share our Certified Organic Farm with those around us. Our outdoor wedding venue has held wide acclaim throughout the entire Chicagoland area. The Knot, Wedding Wire, and The Venue Report have all featured the many farm weddings at Heritage Prairie Farm. Our desire to innovate our monthly Farm Dinners has led to many partnerships with local breweries, distilleries, and unique vendors. But, no matter what, the root of every event at Heritage Prairie Farm is our locally grown produce. As the seasons change, so do our customized events according to what is growing on the farm.

Sucks when you show up at 4:45 for wednesday pizza night and the parking lot is completely packed and they are sold out. your website says do not show up earlier then 4:45 or you will be turned down. Poor management. Ended up getting half price pizza and beers at Nikos tavern.

Where do I begin with my dissatisfaction? I bought 8 tickets for their pig gig farm dinner for my wife and I and a group of friends to attend. When I bought the tickets their website said that tickets were 21 and over, which I assumed was because they included beer pairings. We have a 6 month old daughter that my wife is nursing. The day of the event, my wife was turned away because our daughter is under 21. I asked for a refund. They refused. My wife, being the awesome person she is, insisted I go with our friends anyway and she would stay home with our daughter. The day of the event they changed the language on their website after I complained so much, making it far more clear that they will turn away anyone under 21, including a nursing infant and her mother. The event was $90/person. The food was mediocre at best. Penrose supplied great beer, but the rest for $90 was not worth it in my opinion. A salad consisting of lettuce and sliced radishes. Pork meatballs. Penne pasta mac & cheese. Pulled pork which was dry, and cold by the time they served it and we waited 10 minutes before the bbq sauce arrived (which I will put money on that it was sweet baby ray's). The dessert was apple pancake biscuit things in syrup which were not bad. I asked for a to go plate for my wife which they gave me a bag when we left. I got home to find that there was no salad, no dessert, and a tiny bit of the rest of the meal. That's what they gave me for her $90 plate. I brought almost $800 worth of business to them and was treated rudely by the owner who refused to accommodate my wife and child in the slightest. The event was outdoors in a tent. It was so loud there that we could barely hear our friends at the other end of our table. My daughter could have been screaming and throwing a tantrum and no one would have cared or heard her.

Wonderful wedding venue. The best site, the best staff, the best food. Completely satisfied.

Beware!! Heritage Farms treated me like dirt and I am $5000 poorer. My daughter signed a contract for a June 2017 wedding. I put $2500 for a deposit and then had to give another $2500 before tasting the food. When the day came that we were able to taste and select what we wanted we were disappointed and 3 of the 4 of us got sick from the food. When we went to the stationary porta potties the outside smelled of fecal matter. The complete event was a disaster for us. The next day my daughter told them we would not be having the wedding there. They were going to refund $2500 of my money but it never came. I and my daughter did get numerous calls/emails from their lawyer telling us we would get no money back and we had to sign a contract saying we would not say anything. They rented out the date we had with no loss to them. I am out $5000 for a 3 month contract which was 10 months before the wedding date. DO NOT sign anything unless you have tasted the food and drinks. It was an expensive learning lesson. They are not nice the way they handle their business. Waiting for Karma.

I really love the farms CSA program. This is my second year as a CSA member and the convenience of being able to pick up eggs, cheese, meat and an assortment of gourmet items in the farm store is fun and convenient.
