Charlestown Farmers' Market
The Market highlights Louisiana-made items including grains such as brown jasmine rice and fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, meats, gumbo, canned goods, baked goods, honey, herbs, plants, and homemade arts and crafts. All vendors must supply their own tents and tables.
The Charlestown Farmers' Market provides a great outlet for local farmers to sell their produce, as well as increases awareness of downtown businesses and events.

If you are expecting a "farmers market" you should most definitely lower your expectations. There are some that do sell produce and the produce is good but more than half of the sellers sold crafts. And there weren't many sellers. The sellers were nice and friendly. A good place to meet a few local growers. From my experience with farmers markets I was disappointed but it wasn't a total loss. If you have a day that is such a very nice day and you have nothing better to do go check it out.

Local food, produce, and crafts. Lots of fun.
Third Thursday of June, no one there! The very nice security guard said I was not the only one looking for the farmers market there on this day. I'll try again Saturday. Since there are five Thursdays in this month I wonder if that is where the mix-up occurred??
Lots of people selling lots of stuff! Only problem for me is that it can get too hot in there!
A great small local market where you can support local vendors. From handicrafts to garden vegetables or fresh cooked snacks.
